UP CLOSE PABLO ARANCIBIA EDUCATION B.A. Catholic University of Chile, M.Ed. Northern Illinois University, post graduate work in linguistics. POSITION AND YEARS AT LATIN I started in 2008 as a Spanish teacher in the middle school. FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT LATIN The work environment. I appreciate that the school administration has confidence in the teachers and trusts that we will do a good job. Also, I really enjoy the creative work that my co-workers do every day. It is great and inspiring! WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT TEACHING? Watching students grow and blossom. It is always exciting to see them learn and realize new things. WHY ARE YOU IN EDUCATION? Because I enjoy teaching and learning. It was great to be a student, and it's great to be a teacher too. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES AND INTERESTS? I am an avid collector. At the moment I am focusing my energy on fossils and orchids. I also enjoy doing art and learning about old textiles and the people who created them. WHAT WAS THE LAST GOOD BOOK YOU READ? Serenata Cafiola by Pedro Lemebel, a very eccentric author who writes about the underworld of Chilean society. WHAT ARE YOUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES? I always strive to feel satisfied and happy in pursuing my interests and encouraging myself to be curious about all life. WHAT ARE THE TRAITS YOU ADMIRE MOST IN OTHERS? Focus and diligence. WHO HAS BEEN THE LARGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? There are too many to name. At every step of the way I have met amazing people who showed me the greatness and beauty in life. Amazing people who, in spite of their flaws and shortcomings, have been able to find that internal motivation to feel satisfied and happy.
