In April, Walter Davenport attended the annual RIMS (Risk Management Society) conference in Los Angeles as one of 30 students to participate in the Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program; he was selected based on his essays and recommendations by faculty members. He was also elected vice president of Gamma Iota Sigma, an academic risk management fraternity at Butler University. This summer he will be working as a transfer-pricing intern at Duff & Phelps in Chicago. Faculty Alumni Barbara Florio Graham (Latin 1961-67) continues to write for a variety of publications as well as work as a publishing consultant. Her famous cat, Simon Teakettle III ("Terzo"), who was called by U.S. Business Week "the cat who owns the company," has a popular blog at SimonTeakettle.com/blogterzo.htm. This is the third year he has his own calendar (available from OttawaPhoto.com.) Terzo was asked to pose for the Great Canadian Theatre Company's Christmas card, and has been mentioned on Steve Dale's blog at chicagonow.com. Meanwhile, Bobbi was quoted in an article in the January issue of Canadian Health. We are sorry to report that we recently received news that Ardelle Smith passed away after a lengthy illness on May 11, 2010. Richard "Dick" Wade, former Latin faculty administrator, recently retired after 20 years as head of Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia. We wish him well in his next endeavors.
