class notes Sadaf Jafar writes in that, "After graduating from Georgetown in 2005, I moved to Lucknow, India for two years on a Berkeley Urdu Language Fellowship. Upon returning from that adventure, I started my Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Harvard where I focus on Urdu literature. I was recently in Washington, DC, for the Presidential Inauguration, where I met up with fellow Latin Class of 2001 Alumni Katy Griffin, Thanh Nguyen and Polina Kropacheva for a fabulous dinner. It is always a pleasure to reunite with friends so please let me know if you're ever in the Boston area!" New York City area where I produce high-end photography for advertising and editorial clientele. My work consists of dark and elegant still life and beauty photography with elemental under-tones." (See our new Marketplace section for details.) After a really great experience teaching middle school Chinese at Latin, Zach Chen writes that, "I moved to China for an internship with a European international development consultancy. I was in Beijing for the Olympics, and I ended the internship a few months later, just in time to go back to Chicago for Christmas and on to DC after that for President Obama's Inauguration, where I met up with Luke Durkin '99. At the moment, I'm back in China working for a hiking outfit, Beijing Hikers, so I'm always running around the mountains outside of the city looking for new trails and helping make sure hikers don't get lost. I'll be moving back to America later this spring to take up a seasonal wild-land firefighting job on a Bureau of Land Management engine crew in eastern Idaho." 2003 Julia Corrin, Emily Daviau, Kris Ekdahl, Alice Mathias Stephen Christy writes: "I'm currently living in Los Angeles and I just sold my first TV show to ABC Family. It's a super-hero show called 'Will Triumph Fights Alone,' and we're shooting the pilot for it this summer. I'm executive producer on the series and I can't wait to see it on the air! I also just got hired as director of development for Archaia Studios Press, a top-10 comic book publisher based in Chicago. I'm the head of their Los Angeles office and I'm responsible for developing their comic book properties for film/tv adaptation. I'd definitely love to reconnect with any Latin Alumni in the LA area!" 2004 REUNION YEAR Emma Baumgartner, Sean Hoffman, Adoley Jordan, Alexis Kamerman, Robert Kurtzman, Sharon Madanes, Andrew Peterson Abbas Jaffer is a fellow at the Buxton Initiative, an interfaith organization in Washington, DC.
