class notes 1989 REUNION YEAR Dina Abraham Isaacs Nicole D'Angoia and Derick Arana welcome a baby boy, Sterling Cole, a future Latin School student. David Stone is in the process of finishing his dissertation. David says that for the study portion "I am asking therapists, therapists-in-training, and psychiatrists to answer questions on therapist selfdisclosure. We are about a week or two away from doing a statistical analysis on the results." Sava Marinkovich writes: "I'm still pushing ahead with my start-up, MySkin, Inc., based in New York, but traveling frequently to Europe, and we're getting ready to launch our Beta in February. As part of our research and development efforts, I've had the chance to work extensively in Serbia (where I've met up with Marko Rakocevic '87 many times). Most recently, I received the OSCE Person of the Year award in Economy/Environment. Entrepreneurship is just a budding concept in Serbia, and I've had the opportunity to coach and mentor students here in how US-style venture capital works and how to manage the pitfalls of being an entrepreneur. It's been a busy time since leaving Paris and GE (last summer) just navigating the current financial waters towards launch." 1990 Erin Fahrenkrog-Sheehan Belinda "BB" Binnella writes: "I used to go to Latin from JK until fifth grade and then moved to Mexico DF and then back to Italy. I'd love hear what my elementary classmates are up to!" On August 22, 2008, Russell "Scott" Zenko passed away. Our deepest condolences are extended to all of Scott's family and friends. 1 2 Kathy Morgenstern sends her updates from the East Coast. "I'm living in NYC with my three children – boy/girl 6-year old twins and an 18-month old baby girl – and my husband, Bill. Life is good and it's fun to keep up with everyone via Facebook. If anyone is in Sandy Hook, NJ, this summer I'm going to be competing in the SheRox Women's Triathlon for the first time! I am banking on the swim being no problem. It's the rest that I'm a little worried about. If anyone has any tips please send them my way. My sister Stacy (Morgenstern Igel '96) is doing great with her women's clothing business: Boy Meets Girl." (See our new Marketplace section for details.) 1991 Marna Fainman Goldwin, Steven Sherman, George York Caroline Laskow writes: "our son, Leo Sidney Rosenberg, was born on November 16, 2008, and is turning out to be a big, friendly giant. His big sister, Alice (born September 2006) is enjoying the company, and only occasionally tries to smother him. Ian and I love raising our kids in New York!" 1992 T.J. Shanoff, Rob Wellen T.J. Shanoff's latest work has met with great success. He explains that the "new musical, which I co-wrote at Second City e.t.c, 'Rod Blagojevich Superstar,' opened to rave reviews and a completely sold out run and has since been extended by the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. I wrote the music and lyrics for the show, which has been called "a must see" (Chicago Tribune), "comic material galore" (Variety), "highly recommended" (Chicago Sun-Times) and "an inspired mix of wit, vulgarity, sophistication, and cheese [that] is mean, biting, and hilarious" (Chicago Reader). Plus, my mom loved it. Latin was well represented on opening 3 1 Nicole D'Angoia-Arana '89 with her husband and new baby. 2 Two children of Caroline Laskow '91 – Alice and Leo. 3 Gabe Goodman's son, Eli with Andy Ross' (both '92) daughter, Jordan. 40 Latin Magazine
