1 2 3 4 5 6 The Performance Area has an outdoor stage with log seating for planned and impromptu performances, and a dedicated space for musical play and instruction. The Art Wall features large art boards with multiple surfaces and a range of opportunities to create. The large 1, 2, 3 number sculptures were left by the previous owner of 1547 N. Dearborn, Ann Lurie, and are incorporated in this dynamic creativity wall. The Outdoor Classroom, with a round seating area, is used as an alternate teaching environment or a space for quiet play or performance. The Outdoor Play Area provides ample space for play. It includes a poured rubber surface for running, and riding and free play; a climbing mound and slide that is just the right size for JK and SK students; and big blocks, and other large-scale toys for construction and play. Raised Planting Beds allow students to observe, care for and grow their own edible garden, which connects to classroom discussions, in science and other subjects. There is also a built-in water collection system and composting area. The Learning Garden contains a wide variety of Math and STEM Resources, including large and small manipulatives for discovery, as well as materials for student-led engineering projects.
