In the upper school Latin believes that the best way to learn about art is by experiencing the process of creating it. Upper school students have a vast array of arts classes and activities to choose from. Latin offers a comprehensive menu of introductory courses as well as numerous in-depth experiences. Sample visual and performing arts courses include: band, jazz band, digital image making, digital video, drawing, photography, art history, modern art, acting company, chorus, music theory, speech, playwriting and directing, wind ensemble and observational painting. Outside the classroom • musical and non-musical theater productions • student art exhibits • VIDI photography magazine • ECCO art and literary magazine • yearbook club • Latones (male a capella group), Women's Chorale, Gospel Choir, Student/Faculty Chorale • opportunities to participate in talent shows and improv performances • private voice/instrumental instruction "I knew that I wanted to be involved in performing arts in high school.
