Lower School Student body 378 in junior kindergarten through fourth grade School day Senior kindergarten through fourth grade runs 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (SK); 2:45 p.m. (first); 3 p.m. (2-4). Half-day junior kindergarten runs 8:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., or 12:15 to 2:45 p.m. School motto Manners, kindness and civility. Environment The lower school is a welcoming and nurturing home away from home for our youngest students. Children enjoy small classes with teachers who truly know and support them as they grow as learners and individuals. Curriculum Language arts, library, mathematics, social studies, science, technology world language (Spanish), performing and visual arts and physical education. Events and activities Halloween Parade, Grandparents & Special Friends Day, Ellis Island Simulation, 100th Day Celebration, Reindeer Games, musical production, weekly assemblies, Authors Day, Pajama Day, Orange & Blue Olympics and Bazaarnival. Special programs After School Resources (a variety of clubs and enrichment opportunities), cross country, Extended Day (7:15-8 a.m., 2:30-6 p.m.), Children's Roundtable (counseling program), Community Service Club, Chess Team, learning and reading resources.
