Environment
Our upper school is a community of mutual respect that supports a
love of learning and independent minds. It is a place where kids enjoy
spending time, have fun, and build life-long friendships.
Curriculum
We offer an in-depth and innovative core curriculum that is enhanced
by extensive elective opportunities. Students also can shape their
own courses through our independent studies program. See our course
catalogue at www.latinschool.org/Academics/Upper School.
Requirements for graduation
The school year is divided into two semesters. A student normally earns
one credit for a yearlong course and one half credit for a semester course.
The minimum course load is five half credits per semester. A total of 24
upper school credits are required for graduation in English, languages,
history, mathematics, science, fine arts, physical education, affective education, service learning and Project Week.
"Being able to choose the courses
I want to take and shape my own
schedule has given me a great
sense of balance. There is so much
available for students at Latin…"
