In the Lower School In addition to regular physical education classes and swimming, lower school students are introduced to a variety of team sports such as volleyball, softball, golf, field hockey and soccer. Beginning in third grade students can join the interscholastic cross country team. From September to mid-October team members meet three times a week for practice and participate in approximately five one-mile meets each year. "Our goal is to give students an introduction to the team experience and to teach them how to set personal goals and work to achieve them." – TIM SHEEHAN, LOWER SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY COACH In the Upper School Approximately 70 percent of students play on an athletic team each year, with about half playing on a team during any given season.
