Connect with Alumni! facebook.com/latinalumni LatinSchoolChicago @latinalumni connectlatinschool.org 1944 Camille McDonald Weiss Grace Dodge Fuller Kirk, wife of William ompson Kirk IV and widow of the late Charles Fuller II and the late Dr. Donald Critchfield Greaves, passed away in November. She attended Latin and New Trier High School and Northwestern University, graduating in the Alpha Lambda Delta Society with Honors. Grace was a member of numerous civic organizations and boards and was an active member of Christ Church in Winnetka, where she was a resident for 78 years. She served Latin as a class rep for several decades, and we remember fondly Grace's exuberance as she represented the Girls School in Latin's 125th anniversary festivities. 1949 Peter Barrett Elizabeth Rupprecht We look forward to seeing everyone at our 70th reunion October 4-6! We'll have a special class lunch at the Yacht Club with both the boys and the girls, and will celebrate at Latin on Saturday night with cocktails, dinner and reminiscing! Let's show the younger classes how to have fun! – Peter and Tish Larry Warnock recently remarried after the passing of Madeline, his wife of 36 years. His new bride, Janet, also lost her husband recently. e couple worked together professionally in business and knew each other socially for some 30 years. Larry founded the advertising agency Benchmark, Dallas, TX and Grand Cayman, in 1983. He sold the firm in 2000 and has been retired since then. Currently the couple lives in Naples, FL. Both are happy and healthy. 1954 We very much look forward to seeing everyone in Chicago for our 65th reunion! We'll celebrate with cocktails and dinner at Latin on Saturday, October 5 and will have a special class brunch at the Yacht Club on Sunday, October 6. See you all very soon! Your reunion committee, Allan, Earl, George, Marianne and Sue Cornell University has named the Judith Reppy Institute for Peace and Conflict Study in honor of professor emeritus Judith Voris Reppy. e Institute is an interdisciplinary program devoted to research and teaching on the problems of war and peace. Current projects include a study of the implication of WikiLeaks for government control of information; the role of military expertise in international security studies; and the politics surrounding the future of the U.S. national weapons laboratories. 1956 Peter Burrows Diana Levin Fred Gorr has been named Official Historian of Chicago Yacht Club. Fred's knowledge of the history of boating in Chicago and the history of Chicago Yacht Club is considered encyclopedic. During Fred's 65 years of membership, he has served in most of the club's offices and committees. Peter Burrows writes: "omas '53, Peter '56, Jane '61, Walter '61 and Wendy '63, the children of Peggy (Palmer) Burrows (1905-1979), are researching this Chicago artist and writer. Our mother's watercolor paintings were exhibited from the 1930s to the 1970s, and many were purchased by Latin School families. As part of a project to document her life and work, we would be interested in hearing from individuals who have information on her paintings, caricatures, illustrations, stories, letters or ephemera. Personal remembrances of Peggy Burrows and her unique sense of humor and whimsy may help contribute to our understanding of our mother's career as a celebrated Chicago artist.
