This year has been yet another great one for Latin's Photography Club. With each new year we welcome a new class of high-spirited photographers and their unique ideas and backgrounds regarding photography. In the 2017-18 school year, our photographers, both freelance and in the photography classes, worked to challenge themselves and their perception of photography. During our time through experimentation in fields such as light painting, miniatures, reflections, beach and street photography. We also had the pleasure of having photographer, Eleftheria Lialios, visit to share her work spanning over 40 years on documentary street work and political activism. We finished off the year with a stronger foundation in how we can use our work as photographers to incite thought and change within our viewers, whether it is socially, politically, or culturally. VIDI is the epitome of photography at Latin School of Chicago. The works you will see exhibited here are from students across the grades that have found love and their own personal expression in photography: whether that be through Photo Club, VIDI, photo classes, during a Project Week or on their own time. We had an amazing selection of pieces for this year's magazine and we are highly optimistic about next year's rising class and the great work that will accompany them!
