Life After Latin Program
On April 24, more than 30 alumni returned to campus for the sixth
annual Life After Latin program. Alumni spoke on 15 panels in pairs
or trios, sharing detailed information about their work content and
interactions, career path, and advice for high schoolers contemplating
similar jobs. From speakers including
Chloe Ifergan '96, Zev
Salomon '95 and Ji-Yeon Yuh '83, students learned about the
unpredictability of most career paths, and heard sage wisdom on
making academic, career and life choices. See "Exploring Careers"
on page 34 for more information about this wildly popular program.
Life After Latin Lunch
On March 2, Scholarship Dinner speaker and
president of global health NGO Management
Sciences for Health
Marian Wentworth '82 met
with upper school students to discuss her career
in international health. In addition to sharing her
about her work leading the NGO, Marian talked
about leading the marketing on the international
release of Gardisil, the world's first cancer prevention
vaccine. Marian also explained hallmarks of quality
leadership, including listening, building trust and
accessibility. Marian's visit coincided with the Latin
Initiative for Ethics (LIFE) focus on global health,
and LIFE's leadership board turned out in force to
hear from this expert in the field.
